Vacancy for warehouse manager

Pellito Pharmaceuticals is looking for an experienced warehouse manager to run its recently modernised dispatch facility on the outskirts of the lovely cathedral city of Exeter. If you take a creative approach to problem solving, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have the skills to motivate and lead a team, then this could be the job for you.

The successful candidate will oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of our full range of drugs and other medical products for the international market. Taking responsibility for a vital part of the supply chain process, you will manage people, processes and systems in order to ensure goods are received and dispatched appropriately and that productivity targets are met. You'll also be responsible for workplace health and safety standards and for the security of the buildings and stock.

A recent study within the company has identified a number of areas where we need to make improvements in our operations and several of these will fall under your remit. Most importantly, you will be required to plan future capacity requirements and revise the planning system for the maintenance of vehicles and machinery.

Although we would prefer you to hold a degree appropriate to the role, relevant experience is more important. You will, however, expect you to have qualifications in supply chain management, transport logistics and business information systems. The ability to develop professional working relationships with colleagues within the company and our worldwide customers is a must.

We offer a competitive starting salary of £26,000 which is negotiable depending on experience. This comes as part of a package with a range of benefits including a company car, staff discount, pension, life insurance and private health insurance.

We are committed to the ongoing training of all our employees and require you to study for IOSH health and safety qualifications if you do not already hold these. In addition, we encourage you to continue your professional development through appropriate courses. We will fully fund all courses for accredited qualifications relevant to your position as warehouse manager.

Our production department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a shift system. Although your set hours will be 8.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday, you will sometimes be called upon to work at weekends and during night shifts in certain situations. Enhanced pay for unsociable hours and time off in lieu will be given.

If you think you are the person we are looking for, please contact Bob Satchell at satchel.j@pellito.com for an informal chat in the first instance.
